While the agency is located in Topeka, we serve families throughout the Sunflower State and are also licensed in Missouri. Most customers reside in neighboring communities (Berryton, Tecumseh, Auburn, Eskridge, Hoyt, Meriden, Perry, Lecompton, Burlingame, Carbondale, Overbrook, Mayetta, Hoyt, Holton, Onaga, or Silver Lake), but we also serve thousands throughout all four corners of the Sunflower State and across Missouri. We know that once you find a good thing, it's fun to share that, and we love when our customers refer our small business to anyone within our licensed regions. I've been in the industry for more than a decade and August 2023 was my 10th year anniversary as a State Farm Agent! I enjoy a lot about my work and am passionate in helping others navigate life’s unexpected obstacles, provide assistance in planning for retirement or gaining insurance protections while also saving money.
I grew up on a small farm near Mayetta and attended Royal Valley Schools. I never thought of Insurance as a career option growing up - my childhood career goals centered on writing or law school. I studied Journalism at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. After graduation, I worked in Public Relations and Marketing at some incredible Topeka nonprofits such as the YWCA and United Way. To some, the career cross-over into insurance seemed like a leap, but I’m a natural leader with an appetite for both learning and helping others. I found agency was the perfect career for me.
I'm a true nerd and embrace it! I actually enjoy reading and understanding policy language and ensuring customers get the most out of their policies - whether auto insurance, homeowners insurance, small business insurance or even life insurance. In the decade since launching my insurance agency, I have scaled my business and grown while staying true to our core service and kindness commitments. Our business formula proved one of success, and we more than tripled the number of Homeowners Insurance and Auto Insurance Policies while garnering prestigious community and industry accolades.
While we are so proud of where we have come, we never stop re-tooling and are always looking for ways to improve. I am proud of the business we have built for our community.
As the insurance agency has grown, so has our team and the products we offer - which is so much more than Auto Insurance and Home Insurance. We employ amazing team members and work together to fulfill our pledge to you. In the early days, there was just me and two others in the office. Today, I'm proud to work alongside twelve incredible professionals.
Even though I’m a motivated entrepreneur, I’m not all business; I’m a country girl at heart! My husband, Matt, often jokes that you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl. I am definitely no exception. I grew up outside of Mayetta on a hobby farm and my childhood days often involved helping my dad cut wood, pick up hay or caring for our chickens. I could spent dawn to dust outdoors and loved going "cricking."
Today, I still love my time outdoors and enjoy hanging out at our pool with my family. Matt joined the agency last year, which has been a fun adventure for us as we met while working together 18 years ago. Our family includes 2 daughters (Korrie & Quin) and a son (Keaton) along with two dogs, a shar pei (Theo) and pit bull (Moose).
